Covid-19 Safety Protocols

Is it safe for me to visit our dental office?

There is no evidence of increased risk of transmission of COVID-19 from dental care. Dentists follow Infection-Prevention-and-Control-Guidelines. pdf (cdsbc.org) as a regular course of practice. With the current situation, there are additional steps being taken; therefore, your visit may be slightly different than before the pandemic.

How do our dentists ensure that patients areprotected from infection?

Dental clinics are like mini-hospitals and are required to follow strict infection and exposure controls on an ongoing basis. Dentists comply with Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines set by the College. BCDA also provides dentists with an Exposure Control Plan, outlining the requirements for PPE as a standard practice for managing all patients – all the time. This includes the use of gloves, masks and face shields or eyewear to keep both the practitioner and the patient safe.

What do I need to do differently now when visiting the dental office?

Prior to your appointment, our dental office might be conducting a screening, either by telephone or an emailed form. The screening may include questions about your health, medical history, social history, recent travel outside of Canada and specific questions related to symptoms of COVID-19. When you arrive, you may be asked to wait outside or in your car until your appointment time. You are required to wear a mask and keep physically distant while in the reception area and other common patient areas. The screening questions you answered previously may be asked again. Relatives and friends may not accompany you in the dental office. You may be asked to follow a specific route in and out of the dental office in order to maintain physical distancing.

If you have any concerns regarding our COVID protocols, please do not hesitate to contact our clinic by phone: (604) 647-6453 or email: [email protected]. We are happy to answer your questions. Thank you.

1. Excellent Dentistry

This includes a whole-body approach to dental health, preventative care philosophies, and ongoing advancement of dental knowledge. We strive for nothing less than excellent service and dental work, and care about being accountable to our patients.

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. (1 John 4 : 18)

2. Patient-centered Care

We provide a warm and welcoming experience for our patents. We are passionate about advocating dental knowledge, allowing patients to overcome any fear or barriers towards dentistry. Patient’s experience and comfort is always our top priority. We do not compromise the quality of our services.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast. It is not proud. It is not rude. It is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. (Corinthians 13 : 4-8)

3. Empowered Team

We complement each other. We work together to influence each other in many positive ways. The team is built on honesty and great mentorship, with the goal to create more influential leaders.

Your are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? (Matthew 5:13)

4. Passion

We are passionate about our profession and the dental science behind it. We strive to become the salt and light in our positions, to inspire you and be inspired by you. We wish to make a difference in what we do for you.

Oral Health Care
Protect your teeth

It’s very important to keep up with your everyday oral health. Poor oral health care can affect a persons day to day activities. We would recommend our patients having a regular checkup and cleaning every 3-6 months depending on your oral health needs. Call our office to book a cleaning with our hygienists

4 steps to a healthy mouth:

  1. Keep mouth clean, floss every day and night, brushing twice a day after eating each meal.
  2. Eating a well-balanced diet with less carbonated drinks and drinking lots of water to keep your body hydrated.
  3. See a dentist regularly is very important to keep up with your oral health. Without getting a dental examination from your dentist, they aren’t able to detect any issues going on with the mouth.
  4. Don’t smoke or chew tobacco

Your first appointment with us:

Before anything is done inside your mouth, our dentist and hygienist will need to know about your medical history, your last dental visit, any changes in your health such as new medications, diabetes, arthritis, pregnancy, etc. It is important that our Dental Care Team knows about any health concerns, anxieties, or allergies you may have in order to avoid incidents and to make sure you get the kind of care you need.

And when we say that we want you to tell us about any concerns or anxieties you have, we mean it! Just let us know and we will tailor the appointment to your comfort!   Sometimes, all a person needs is a little explanation or a little listening to their fears to make things seem a little better.

Dental Emergencies

Dental emergencies are a very painful and scary event. In most cases, teeth become fractured by trauma, grinding, eating hard foods. An immediate treatment is always required to alleviate pain and ensure your teeth have the best possible dental care and the best chance of survival.
